Tripura East is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Tripura. The state has 2 parliamentary seats. The Tripura East seat comprises 30 Assembly segments including Ramchandraghat, Khowai, Asharambari, Kalyanpur-pramodenagar, Teliamura, Krishnapur, Hrishyamukh, Jolaibari, Manu, Sabroom, Ampinagar, Amarpur, Karbook, Raimavalley, Kamalpur, Surma, Ambassa, Karmachara, Chawamanu, Pabiachhara, Fatikroy, Chandipur, Kailashahar, Kadamtala-kurti, Bagbassa, Dharmanagar, Jubarajnagar, Panisagar, Pencharthal, Kanchanpur. The constituency is a ST seat. The BJP, the INC are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Rebati Tripura from BJP won the seat with a margin of 204,290 votes. Rebati Tripura was polled 482,126 votes with a vote share of 46.00 % and defeated Maharaj Kumari Pragya Debburman from INC who got 277,836 votes (26.56 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Jitendra Chaudhury from CPIM won the seat and was polled 623,771 votes with a vote share of 65.47%. INC candidate Sachitra Debbarma got 139,413 votes (14.63 %) and was the runner-up.Jitendra Chaudhury defeated Sachitra Debbarma by a margin of 484,358 votes.
