Odisha's five Lok Sabha seats and 35 Assembly seats to go for polls in the fifth phase tomorrow. The fate of total 305 candidates would be sealed by the voters. The results of the elections will be declared on June 4.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: 49 constituencies are going for polls in the fifth phase on May 20. Voters in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will use their franchise in the fifth phase.
Significantly, contesting on a BJP ticket for the first time in 2019, Hembram secured the victory for the party. He defeated the TMC’s Birbaha Soren by a margin of 11,767 votes, however, but was not nominated by the party this year.

The Centre abrogated Article 370 on August 5, 2019 which granted special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The centre also downgraded the state into two union territories -- Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
