The BSE benchmark Sensex slipped 8.03 points or 0.02 per cent to settle at 53,018.94. During the day, it had gained 350.57 points or 0.66 per cent to 53,377.54.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened lower at 78.86 against the greenback and finally settled at 79.03, down 18 paise over its previous close.
The 30-share BSE Sensex settled 150.48 points or 0.28 per cent lower at 53,026.97 as 20 of its stocks ended with losses. The broader NSE Nifty declined by 51.10 points or 0.32 per cent to 15,799.10 with 34 of its constituents closing in the red.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 564.77 points lower at 52,612.68. The NSE Nifty dipped 162.4 points to 15,687.80.
The rupee is expected to trade on a negative note on risk aversion in domestic markets and continued selling pressure from foreign institutional investors (FIIs).
The 30-share BSE Sensex settled up 16.17 points or 0.03 percent at 53,177.45. During the day, it had declined 389.75 points or 0.73 percent to 52,771.53. The NSE Nifty gained 18.15 points or 0.11 percent to 15,850.20.
Bajaj Auto Share Buyback: Bajaj Auto said that its share buyback programme will be carried out at a price not exceeding Rs 4,600 per equity share.
The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 433.30 points or 0.82 per cent to settle at 53,161.28. During the day, it rallied 781.52 points or 1.48 per cent to 53,509.50.
The net outflow by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) from equities reached Rs 2.13 lakh crore unitll now in 2022, data with depositories showed.
The 30-share BSE Sensex advanced further by 462.26 points or 0.88 per cent to settle at 52,727.98. During the day, it rallied 644.15 points or 1.23 per cent to 52,909.87.

From the Sensex pack, Maruti, M&M, Asian Paints, Bharti Airtel, TCS and Hindustan Unilever among others were the major gainers. On the other hand, Reliance Industries, NTPC, Power Grid and UltraTech Cement were the laggards.
The BSE Sensex zoomed 934.23 points or 1.81 per cent to settle at 52,532.07. During the day, it rallied 1,201.56 points or 2.32 per cent to 52,799.40. The NSE Nifty climbed 288.65 points or 1.88 per cent to finish at 15,638.80.
