Darjeeling is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal. The state has 42 parliamentary seats. The Darjeeling seat comprises 7 Assembly segments including Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Kurseong, Matigara-naxalbari, Siliguri, Phansidewa, Chopra. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The BJP, the AITC are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Raju Bista from BJP won the seat with a margin of 413,443 votes. Raju Bista was polled 750,067 votes with a vote share of 59.00 % and defeated Amar Singh Rai from AITC who got 336,624 votes (26.51 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, S.s.ahluwalia from BJP won the seat and was polled 488,257 votes with a vote share of 42.73%. AITC candidate Bhai Chung Bhutia got 291,018 votes (25.47 %) and was the runner-up.S.s.ahluwalia defeated Bhai Chung Bhutia by a margin of 197,239 votes.
