Araria is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The state has 40 parliamentary seats. The Araria seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Jokihat, Sikti, Narpatganj, Raniganj(sc), Forbesganj, Araria. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The BJP, the RJD are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Pradeep Kumar Singh from BJP won the seat with a margin of 137,241 votes. Pradeep Kumar Singh was polled 618,434 votes with a vote share of 53.00 % and defeated Sarfaraz Alam from RJD who got 481,193 votes (41.14 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Tasleem Uddin from RJD won the seat and was polled 407,978 votes with a vote share of 41.81%. BJP candidate Pradeep Kumar Singh got 261,474 votes (26.80 %) and was the runner-up.Tasleem Uddin defeated Pradeep Kumar Singh by a margin of 146,504 votes.
