Tirupati is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. The state has 25 parliamentary seats. The Tirupati seat comprises 7 Assembly segments including Sarvepalli, Gudur, Sullurpeta, Venkatagiri, Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu. The constituency is a SC seat. The YSRCP, the TDP are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Balli Durga Prasad Rao from YSRCP won the seat with a margin of 228,376 votes. Balli Durga Prasad Rao was polled 722,877 votes with a vote share of 55.00 % and defeated Panabaka Lakshmi from TDP who got 494,501 votes (37.56 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Varaprasad Rao Velagapalli from YSRCP won the seat and was polled 580,376 votes with a vote share of 47.79%. BJP candidate Karumanchi Jayaram got 542,951 votes (44.71 %) and was the runner-up.Varaprasad Rao Velagapalli defeated Karumanchi Jayaram by a margin of 37,425 votes.
