Kishanganj is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The state has 40 parliamentary seats. The Kishanganj seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Bahadurganj, Thakurganj, Kishanganj, Kochadhaman, Amour, Baisi. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The INC, the JD(U) are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Dr. Mohammad Jawed from INC won the seat with a margin of 34,466 votes. Dr. Mohammad Jawed was polled 367,017 votes with a vote share of 33.00 % and defeated Syed Mahmood Ashraf from JD(U) who got 332,551 votes (30.19 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Mohammad Asrarul Haque from INC won the seat and was polled 493,461 votes with a vote share of 53.15%. BJP candidate Dr Dilip Kumar Jaiswal got 298,849 votes (32.19 %) and was the runner-up.Mohammad Asrarul Haque defeated Dr Dilip Kumar Jaiswal by a margin of 194,612 votes.
