Jahanabad is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The state has 40 parliamentary seats. The Jahanabad seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Arwal, Kurtha, Jahanabad, Ghosi, Makhadumapur(sc), Atri. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The JD(U), the RJD are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Chandeshwar Prasad from JD(U) won the seat with a margin of 1,751 votes. Chandeshwar Prasad was polled 335,584 votes with a vote share of 41.00 % and defeated Surendra Prasad Yadav from RJD who got 333,833 votes (40.60 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Dr. Arun Kumar from RLSP won the seat and was polled 322,647 votes with a vote share of 39.74%. RJD candidate Surendra Prasad Yadav got 280,307 votes (34.53 %) and was the runner-up.Dr. Arun Kumar defeated Surendra Prasad Yadav by a margin of 42,340 votes.
Shiromani Akali Dal released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. Punjab has 13 Lok Sabha seats, all of which will go to polls in the seventh and last phase of elections on June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.

Mallikarjun Kharge said that their alliance is going to win more than 50 per cent of seats in Maharashtra, 7-8 seats in Rajasthan, and 5-6 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, we are winning 4-5 seats in Chhattisgarh and there is a 50-50 fight between them and NDA, he added.
The Election Commission has released the data of poll-time seizures between March 1 and May 18. It has also stated that the amount will soon cross Rs. 9000 crore mark. The unprecedent seizure is resulted by intelligence-based coordinated action, constant review and ESMS-enabled real time monitoring.
