The BJP, the SP are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Swami Sakshi Ji Maharaj from BJP won the seat with a margin of 400,956 votes. Swami Sakshi Ji Maharaj was polled 703,507 votes with a vote share of 57.00 % and defeated Arun Shanker Shukla from SP who got 302,551 votes (24.45 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Sakshi Maharaj from BJP won the seat and was polled 518,834 votes with a vote share of 43.17%. SP candidate Arun Shankar Shukla got 208,661 votes (17.36 %) and was the runner-up.Sakshi Maharaj defeated Arun Shankar Shukla by a margin of 310,173 votes.
