The BJP, the NCP are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Dr. Sujay Radhakrishna Vikhepatil from BJP won the seat with a margin of 281,474 votes. Dr. Sujay Radhakrishna Vikhepatil was polled 704,660 votes with a vote share of 58.00 % and defeated Sangram Arunkaka Jagtap from NCP who got 423,186 votes (35.09 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Gandhi Dilipkumar Mansukhlal from BJP won the seat and was polled 605,185 votes with a vote share of 56.94%. NCP candidate Rajeev Appasaheb Rajale got 396,063 votes (37.27 %) and was the runner-up.Gandhi Dilipkumar Mansukhlal defeated Rajeev Appasaheb Rajale by a margin of 209,122 votes.
