Palakkad is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala. The state has 20 parliamentary seats. The Palakkad seat comprises 7 Assembly segments including Pattambi, Shornur, Ottapalam, Kongad, Mannarkkad, Malampuzha, Palakkad. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The INC, the CPIM are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, V K Sreekandan from INC won the seat with a margin of 11,637 votes. V K Sreekandan was polled 399,274 votes with a vote share of 39.00 % and defeated M B Rajesh from CPIM who got 387,637 votes (37.68 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, M B Rajesh from CPIM won the seat and was polled 412,897 votes with a vote share of 45.35%. SJD candidate M P Veerendrakumar got 307,597 votes (33.78 %) and was the runner-up.M B Rajesh defeated M P Veerendrakumar by a margin of 105,300 votes.
