Giridih is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand. The state has 14 parliamentary seats. The Giridih seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Giridih, Dumri, Gomia, Bermo, Tundi, Baghmara. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The AJSUP, the JMM are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Chandra Prakash Choudhary from AJSUP won the seat with a margin of 248,347 votes. Chandra Prakash Choudhary was polled 648,277 votes with a vote share of 59.00 % and defeated Jagarnath Mahto from JMM who got 399,930 votes (36.12 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Ravindra Kumar Pandey from BJP won the seat and was polled 391,913 votes with a vote share of 40.35%. JMM candidate Jagarnath Mahto got 351,600 votes (36.20 %) and was the runner-up.Ravindra Kumar Pandey defeated Jagarnath Mahto by a margin of 40,313 votes.
