Dr. Chandra Sen Jadon was polled 495,819 votes with a vote share of 46.00 % and defeated Akshay Yadav from SP who got 467,038 votes (43.38 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Akshay Yadav from SP won the seat and was polled 534,583 votes with a vote share of 48.39%. BJP candidate Prof. S.p. Singh Baghel got 420,524 votes (38.07 %) and was the runner-up.Akshay Yadav defeated Prof. S.p. Singh Baghel by a margin of 114,059 votes.
