Kedarnath and Badrinath-bound pilgrims have also been requested not to proceed on their journey till the weather clears. Most of the pilgrims on way to Badrinath are staying in Joshimath and Chamoli, Chamoli district disaster management officer N K Joshi said.
Chardham Yatra for Uttarakhand residents began on Wednesday with 422 pilgrims applying for e-passes on the first day to visit the Himalayan temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
The Chardham Devasthanam Board issued an order on Tuesday, putting off the Chardham yatra until June 30 but allowed locals to visit the four Himalayan temples in limited numbers and with permits from the district administration.
