Manjrekar's response came after veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik talked about this type of dismissal.
Karthik said the dismissal should not be called 'Mankading', especially when the ICC and MCC call it just a run out.
Ravichandran Ashwin has suggested an alternative to the 'Mankad' mode of dismissal, saying that there should be a 'free ball' for bowlers, like 'free hit' for batsmen.
Karthik also called for the rule being more "watertight and either black or white".
