Australia have won the third and final ODI of the three-match series against West Indies and have also sealed the series 3-0. It was a completely dominating show from the home side as they crushed the hapless Caribbeans in the dead rubber played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.

After a thrilling Test series that ended in a draw (1-1), Australia and West Indies will lock horns in the three-match ODI series starting from February 2. The two teams are also scheduled to face each other in three T20Is soon after the ODIs conclude.

West Indies defeated England in the first ODI of the three-match series chasing down 326 runs with four wickets in hand. Skipper Shai Hope smashed his 16th ODI ton and remained unbeaten in the chase helping his team take an early lead in the series.

Shai Hope helped the West Indies pile more misery on England. The Three Lions were desperate for a win to start the ODI series on a bright note but Hope and his men had other ideas.

West Indies recorded their highest-ever ODI chase at home to stun the Jos Buttler-led England. Their previous highest chase (309/6) in the Windies had come against Pakistan while playing in Providence in 2017.

England endured a horrendous campaign during World Cup 2023 as they finished seventh on the points table after the end of the round-robin stage. Jos Buttler wasn't able to score much and that dented his confidence.

West Indies opener Shai Hope displayed some great intent straightaway as he walked into bat. Shai Hope who is playing his 100th ODI for team India had a job on his hands and he exactly did what was expected out of him. The West Indies opener struck 115 runs off 135 deliveries.

Hope opened the innings with Mayers, who was striking the ball at a strike rate of over 150. Mayers' fireworks at the start gave Hope enough time to settle in. Incidentally, this was his 100th ODI as well.

The duo was part of the 15-man squad of Cricket West Indies (CWI) CG Insurance Super50 Cup and was withdrawn after testing positive.

Talking about the decision to drop Hope, Cricket West Indies' chief selector Roger Harper said that he was not "at his best" in the longest format of the game for a while.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has struggled to even breach the 30-run mark in his four innings against England. His scores read 25, 7 16, 9 so far.

Despite being team's key batting mainstay in the ODIs, the 26-year-old from Barbados has scored just 1498 runs in 31 Tests at an average of 27.23. He has 3289 runs at 52.2 in 78 ODIs.

With his dismissal, Hope ended his 2019 ODI tally at 1345 runs (in 28 ODIs) which is the second-highest run tally by a West Indies batsman in a calendar year.
