As Kerala continues to register a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, the State government on Monday said the educational institutions which have less than 40 per cent attendance for consecutive three days will be closed for two weeks.
The infections on Sunday were mainly driven by Bengaluru, which contributed more than half of the total infections -- 26,299.
In a letter to the state government, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said Kerala has reported a total of 20,563 reconciled Covid deaths since October 22, 2021.
The Centre has revised the discharge policy on Covid patients to align it with the Covid-19 clinical management protocol, guidelines for home isolation of mild cases, and advisory on testing strategy, it was announced on Wednesday. "After a review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister over Covid situation, we have revised our discharge policy with severity categorised into mild and moderate cases," Joint Secretary, Health, Lav Agrawal, said at a press briefing.
