350 electric buses were added to the Delhi government's electric bus fleet after which the total number of electric buses rose to 1,650 in the national capital.
The Transport Department officials said they have requested the police to share the footage from the CCTV camera installed inside the bus to determine the cause of the accident.
The WhatsApp ticketing system for Metro train services already exists in Delhi and now the trials for buses is likely to commence soon. The Delhi government is also working on single-journey ticket system.
WhatsApp-based ticketing system will work in line with the Delhi metro. There might be a marginal convenience fee applied to transactions made via credit or debit card, however, no convenience fee is charged for UPI-based transactions.
The injured have been hospitalised, police said. Meanwhile, further investigations are underway.
A protesting Civil Defence Volunteer said that they were staging the protest as due have not been paid for four months. Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory for the commuters in view of the protest.

The incident occured on a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on the Dhaula Kuan-Mayur Vihar route.
A notification issued by the health department of the state government said the capacity (number of oxygen cylinders) will be increased in phase wise as per the demands.
Currently, there are over 3,700 DTC buses, out of which nearly 10 per cent are under special hire.
The low-floor DTC buses are extensively used for movement of police and paramilitary personnel for deployment in various parts of Delhi.
As the Delhi government on Monday issued guidelines for 'Unlock 1.0', it maintained status quo for restaurants, permitted to operate kitchens for home delivery and takeaway of food items, and DTC with not more than 20 passengers at a time.
With passengers stranded at New Delhi Railway station amid the lockdown, the Delhi Police on Wednesday said such people can now avail DTC buses for their onward journey from the station.
Last year when the Delhi government appointed 13,000 marshals in public buses it ensured to keep a check on incidents of eve-teasing and violence against women, however, the security personnel weren't provided any means for their own safety.
