No respite from Covid-19 surge yet, India reports 160700 new cases in last 24 hours

From total 160700 new cases alone Maharashtra recorded 51,751 coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the tally of infections in the state to 34,58,996, the death toll increased to 58,245 with 258 new fatalities. Maharashtra government is planning to impose lockdown in the state, amid an unprecedented surge in coronavirus cases. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday met the state Covid-19 task force members to take a final decision on stricter curbs.
