The NIA's action comes in the wake of the fact that terrorist outfits and terror elements based abroad were operating in tandem with leaders and members of organised criminal gangs in northern states of the country to commit targeted killings and violent criminal acts.
NIA raids in Rajasthan: According to sources, the raids are being carried out at Kota, Bhilwara, Sawai, Madhopur, Bundi and at other places. The raids started early on Saturday morning and are currently underway.
NIA is conducting raids at multiple locations including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Rajsathan, Haryana and other states after questioning Laurence Bishnoi, Neeraj Bawana and Tillu Tazpuriya.

Jammu and Kashmir: NIA sources said that the case is related to the suspicious activities of Al Huda Educational Trust in the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Raids on PFI: In Bidar district, PFI district president Abdul Karim and SDPI district secretary Sheikh Maqsood have been detained. Six members of PFI have also been taken into preventive custody in Kolar district.
A large number of criminal cases have been registered in different states over the last few years against the PFI and its leaders and members for their involvement in many violent acts.
Kerala NIA ED raids: As per sources, raids are on since midnight at the houses of PFI state, district level leaders including the house of OMA Salam, PFI chairman.

The NIA has registered two separate FIRs in the Phulwari Sharif terror module case, one mentioning about a plan of miscreants to disturb the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bihar by some suspected persons.
Praveen Nettaru murder: NIA conducted searches at 33 locations in Mysuru, Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka in connection with the killing of Praveen Nettaru.
NIA raids today have led to the seizure of incriminating documents/material.
The case was initially registered on January 21 at the Tipa police station in Saiha district and was re-registered by the NIA on March 21.
The raids were learnt to be conducted mainly at locations of suspects in south Kashmir with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
During their interrogation, the NIA team found that Arif and Shabbir had carried out some transactions with Chhota Shakeel, following which they were placed under arrest.
Last month, 10 overground workers (OGWs) of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit were arrested during raids in the south and central Kashmir areas.
Agency sources have signalled it may be linked to Jammu and Kashmir terrorism conspiracy case in which the NIA had arrested two accused persons on November 12.
Similar raids were carried out by the agency two months back on the houses and offices of prominent JeI leaders. After carrying out the raids, those involved were summoned to appear before the NIA in Delhi.
Earlier on Sunday, the NIA arrested three people over their alleged association with the banned terror organisation Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an official said.
