Farmers across the country under the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) banner had been agitating since last one year demanding repeal of the three farm laws.
Agitating farmers on Wednesday in a press conference said that they will end their protest only after the government gives written assurance on the pending demands. The development in the ongoing protests has come after 32 farmer unions held a meeting at the Singhu border.
The SKM, the union of nearly 40 farmers' groups spearheading the agitation, is expected to announce its future course of action on December 4.
In an exclusive conversation with India TV, Rakesh Tikait said that the discussions should take place over the law on MSP, withdrawing of cases against farmers, financial aid to farmers' families among other issues.
The Centre has sought 5 names from farmer unions for the panel on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and other issues.
Rahul Gandhi said that manner in which farm laws have been repealed without debate shows the government afraid of discussion.
The Trinamool Congress has already said it is "disinterested" in coordinating with the Congress during the Winter Session of Parliament but maintained that it would cooperate with other opposition camps.
Rakesh Tikait said that though the government has repealed the farm laws, the farmers' problems will not come to an end with this as the government is trying to bring in various anti-farmer laws.
The Congress and other opposition parties have been demanding that the farm laws be repealed on the first day of the Winter Session itself.
"I believe Modi Ji's intention is good. He is giving good leadership. Now we should end this movement and move forward," Ramdev added.
With regard to withdrawal of cases against farmers during the agitation, Tomar said this is in the domain of the state governments.
