BJP star campaigner and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also canvassed for Dhami in Tanakpur, asking people of the constituency not to waste the chance of electing a Chief Minister for their rapid development.
Bypoll to the Champawat seat which was vacated for Dhami by Kailash Chandra Gehtori is scheduled to be held on May 31. The results will be announced on June 2.
Dhami was made the chief minister for the second consecutive term despite losing to Khatima in the recent assembly polls and is required to be elected as an MLA within six months of being sworn in as the chief minister.
