It is not easy to bear the heat of May and June. Especially in North India, there is severe heat. Humans, animals and birds are also getting troubled due to the scorching heat. Hot winds and strong sunlight absorb all the water from the body. During summer, doctors recommend drinking as much water as possible to avoid heat waves. However, sometimes the effect of water also becomes ineffective. Now the question arises how much temperature can a human body tolerate? Let us know what is the opinion of scientists and doctors on this.

According to doctors, the human body can withstand temperatures up to 37.5 degrees Celsius. Be it summer or winter, the body's internal system works to maintain the temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius. The part on the back side of the brain called the hypothalamus works to regulate the temperature inside the body. The human body is designed to function at 37.5 degrees Celsius. If the temperature is 2-4 degrees above and below then the body does not face many problems, but if it is more then the problem may increase.

How does the body control heat?

  • When we sweat profusely and when we breathe through the mouth, the temperature inside the body starts getting controlled.
  • When you feel hot and go to an open, airy place, it controls the temperature inside the body.
  • When body temperature increases, blood vessels start widening and blood starts reaching all parts of the body easily.

How much heat can the body withstand depending on these things?

There are several things to consider when it comes to our body withstanding heat. For how long have you been exposed to that temperature how much humidity is there in the weather, sweating, physical activities and clothes?

All these things also help in controlling the increased body temperature. Drink plenty of water to avoid strong sunlight and heat stroke. Avoid exposure to strong sunlight. If there is humidity, you sweat a lot, so drink as much water as possible. Avoid sudden exposure to strong sunlight. This increases the risk of fever-like conditions or hyperthermia. If the temperature increases gradually, the body adjusts to it easily.
