Disha Patani is currently basking in the success of her recent release Baaghi 2, which has emerged to be the biggest opener at the box office so far. Disha, in her career spanning over three years, has done only three films and this shows that she is quite choosy. The actress has earlier said that she cannot do a lot of films just to prove her existence.
Opening about her choice of film, Disha told Hindustan Times, ''I’m not from a filmi background, so I don’t know if my films will always work and if people will give me another chance. So, I’ve to be super careful. I love acting and I want to keep getting the chance to perform.''
Talking about her struggle days, the actress said that she used to give a lot of auditions as she had the pressure to pay the rent of her house. ''I left my studies and I came to Mumbai. For a college girl to come to a new city not knowing anyone wasn’t easy. I was living alone, making my own money and never asked my family [for money]. I came to Mumbai with ₹500 and after a point, I didn’t have any money. I used to go for a lot of auditions, mostly for TV commercials, as there was this constant pressure on me that if I don’t get a job this month, how I will pay my rent. Everything I did was a job until I started to enjoy acting,'' Disha said. She further added that initially, she didn't have any friends in Mumbai and her life was a circle- work, home and sleep. At times, she used to think that what is she doing with her life.
Disha is looking for a project that can change people's perspective and improve her acting skills. She wants people to see her as an actor. Disha made her debut in 2016 with MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and went on to do an Indo-Chinese film Kung Fu Yoga. In Ahmed Khan's directorial Baaghi 2, the actress is romancing her alleged beau Tiger Shroff.
