Imarti Devi is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh and a close aide of Union Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Imarti Devi first entered the Madhya Pradesh Assembly from Dabra in 2008 by defeating Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Hargovind Jauhari with a margin of 10,630 votes. Devi retained her seat in the 2013 and 2018 elections before defecting to the BJP in 2020. Imarti Devi chose to side with Scindia during the Madhya Pradesh political crisis in 2020 when 22 Congress MLAs loyal to Scindia resigned and joined the BJP. However, Devi lost the Dabra bypoll in 2020 when she was defeated by Congress candidate Suresh Raje. Imarti Devi also served as Minister for Women and Child Development in the successive Kamal Nath and Shivraj Singh Chouhan ministries. She is again contesting from Dabra in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Election against Suresh Raje.
