There was a brief firing of 30 to 40 rounds by the Pakistani Army along the LoC in Gulpur and Khadi Karmara forward areas in Poonch sector around 5:45 pm, officials said.
The Indian Army fired at the helicopter with light arms, but the chopper returned before it could be hit, the sources added.
"Indian and Pakistan army exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha today at Chakan Da Bagh Crossing point along the LoC in Poonch," a defence spokesman said.
Army troops discovered the weapons during a search operation in the Chapriyan-KP Nala area of Mandi tehsil, a defence spokesperson said.
Rifleman Aurangzeb of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was abducted and killed by militants in Pulwama district when he was on his way home to celebrate Eid on June 14.
Angry villagers demanded an immediate action against the terrorists involved in the dastardly attack on Aurangzeb who himself was part of Army special unit which eliminated several top terror commanders in the Valley.
"The Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 0930 hours in Poonch sector along the LoC in Rajouri district," a defence spokesman said.
The Pakistani troops also resorted to shelling of mortars along the LoC in the Tarkundi Gali, Lambi Bari, Khorinar, Dhar and Panjgrian areas of the Manjakote sector in Rajouri.
According to laid down norms by both the sides, rotary wing aircraft should not come within one kilometre of the LoC and fixed-wing aircraft should not be within 10 km of it.
The incidence comes a day after Army foiled an attempt by a group of terrorists to intrude into this side under the cover of Pakistani firing from across the LoC in Poonch.
The alert troops deployed at the border detected the movement and engaged the infiltrators with effective automatic fire.
"There was a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army. They resorted to firing along the LoC in Chakan Da Bagh area in Poonch this evening," a security force official said.
Pakistani troops again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today, killing an Army jawan.
Army troops guarding the border retaliated and an exchange of fire between the two sides was underway when the last reports were received, the police said.

The year 2017 has seen a sharp increase in ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces. Till August 1, there were 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army.
A senior BSF officer said the Pakistani army violated the ceasefire and targeted a jawan of the border guarding force, who was on duty at a post along the LoC, with sniper fire.
The BAT, which generally comprises special forces of the Pakistan Army and some terrorists, carried out the attack at around 2 pm with the aid of cover fire by the Pakistani troops from their posts.
Militants fired a grenade at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Tral town of Pulwama, a police official said.
