Rishabh Pant enters record books on Test debut at Trent Bridge.
Rishabh Pant made his Test debut against England in the ongoing match at Trent Bridge and became the 291 player to don the Indian Test jersey. Pant did not take much time to register his name in the record books on his debut match as he became the first Indian to score his first run in Test cricket by a sixer. The 20-year old smashed Adil Rashid to six on the second ball he played in the match, he left Rashid shocked by the way he picked up his googly and hit him out of the boundary.
The young wicketkeeper made his way in the Test team by replacing Dinesh Karthik who performed poorly with bat in previous two Test at Edgbaston and Lord's. Karthik performance behind the stumps was also not up to the mark in the series.
Pant is an interesting prospect for Indian cricket and has the capability to make a name of his own in world cricket. Indian legends of the game Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly also heaped praises for the young gun on the Twitter.
What I liked in this innings was the intent shown by our batsmen and the front foot defense against the English pacers was solid. Wonderful partnership by @imVkohli and @ajinkyarahane88. @RishabPant777 should continue being positive and set the platform. #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/HCsfZJgSwS

Incredible! Rishab Pant's first scoring shot in Test cricket was a six, off the second ball that he faced. The youngster looked very good. I wish him the best for a big innings. India did well on the first day. They should push hard and win the Trent Bridge Test.
