Anumula Revanth Reddy is the present Telangana state chief of the Congress party. He is a Lok Sabha member from the Malkajgiri constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Reddy won the seat after defeating Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Rajashekar Reddy Marri with a margin of 10,919 votes. Revanth Reddy won his first Assembly Election from the Kodangal constituency as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader by defeating Congress candidate and sitting MLA Gurunath Reddy with a margin of 6,989 votes. Revanth retained Kodangal in 2014 after defeating Gurunath Reddy again by over 14,000 votes. Reddy joined the Congress party in 2017 after leaving the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP. However, he was defeated by TRS leader Patnam Narender Reddy in the 2018 Telangana Assembly Election from Kodangal with a margin of 9,319 votes. Reddy was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in 2015 during a sting operation after allegedly bribing a nominated MLA to vote in favour of the TDP candidate in the Legislative Council polls. He is contesting from Kodangal and Kamareddy in the upcoming Telangana Assembly Election 2023. He is facing Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in Kamareddy.
