Hyderabad man rapes mother-in-law, threatens to divorce her daughter

A 27-year-old man was held at Balapur in Hyderabad, for allegedly raping his mother-in-law and threatening to divorce her daughter if she lodges complaint.

The resident of Kandikal of Old city got married to victim's daughter a year ago.

The incident occurred at Chandrayangutta police station limits, where the accused forcibly took his mother-in-law to an isolated place against her will and raped her. Later, he dropped her at her residence. He also threatened the victim to divorce her daughter if she lodges complaint against him.

However, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint against him.

The accused has been booked under relevant Section 376 (rape) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim has been shifted to the government hospital for medical assistance.
