All six minors are to be produced before the judicial magistrate.
A controversy erupted in West Bengal after a local TMC leader in Murshidabad district was seen in a purported video threatening opposition camp members of assault if they failed to provide proof of the claims they made while holding protests against rape cases.
The accused were being probed after they were booked on March 31 for illegally entering the forest when the crime came to light, the official said.
A complaint was lodged at the Hanskhali police station by the parents of the minor girl, who had gone to attend the birthday party of the accused. She returned home in an ailing condition and died soon after.
Based on the complaint of the family members, a case has been registered against one named accused and five other unidentified people under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
The woman is stated to be stable. Raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused, police said.
While the incident took place earlier this month, the constable lodged a complaint on September 13, following which a probe was conducted and a case was registered this week against five persons, including the mother of the main accused, the official said.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East region), Dattatray Karale, said the offences were committed between January 29 this year and September 22.
The incident took place on Thursday night when the victim's cousin took her to a secluded place where he and his friend gang-raped her, a senior officer said.
Eight persons, including six autorickshaw drivers and two employees of the Railways, were arrested in connection with the crime.
The sixth accused was also arrested from Tamil Nadu on Monday night after police tracked him down. He had disappeared after the incident came to light.
Gang rape accused have told Police that they were encouraged by the fact that no complaint was ever lodged against them by the victims.
Victim was gang-raped near Chamundi foothills on the outskirts of Mysuru on August 24. The culprits assaulted her male friend who was with her.
According to sources, the police have zeroed in on four students of a reputed engineering college in Mysuru. The police have obtained their tower locations from the crime spot. When the police tried to reach the suspects, they were not found.

A medical student studying in a private college was allegedly gang-raped by unidentified people on the outskirts of the city near Lalitadripura, police said on Wednesday.
The accused attacked the boy who was with the girl with a small boulder and sexually assaulted the girl. The victim is said to have come to Mysuru for studies from Uttar Pradesh. She studies in a private college.
The incident occurred near Gadhuproda village under Lemru police station area on January 29, but came to light on Tuesday.
After dragging her into the place of worship, they beat her up, raped her and threatened her to not reveal about the incident. The two also took the money she had on hand, they said.
