Rajasthan’s education department recently asked students of government and private schools to visit a fair organised by the Hindu Spirituality and Service Foundation (HSSF).
However, what is being taught at the five-day-long fair, is really disturbing.
A stall of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in the fair has manuals that teach girls how they can protect themselves from ‘love jihad’, with pamphlets accusing Mulslim men of trying to woo Hindu girls with a motive of converting them to Islam.
The pamphlet, titled Jihad and Love Jihad, tells Hindu girls to be “aware of Muslim men who are out on a ‘Love Jihad’”, further listing ways in which they lure girls into converting to Islam.
According to the provocative pamphlets, Muslim men gain entry into Hindu households, chat with girls in separate room, proclaim themselves as Hindus, tie red thread (kalava) on their hands, run around doing their chores, indulge in intimate talks with girls.
The pamphlet further says that Hindu girls, wooed by these Muslim men, make false excuses to their parents, and spend time with them in hotel, where indulging in intimate relation is obvious.
It further tells ways how Hindu families can identify if their girl is falling prey to Love Jihad. One of them is: “Check your daughter's mobile phone, who does she call, whose numbers are saved in the mobile, what and who do they text, checking all this will give you a lot of information”.
According to the pamphlet, “Muslims ensnare (Hindu) women. Either they sell them or kill them”. It even lists out the “rates” Muslims get for “converting women”.
The pamphlet further says that ‘love jihad’ takes place at beauty parlours, mobile recharge shops, ladies’ tailors, etc. It also cites ‘giving a seat on the bus’ as one of the tactics used by ‘jihadis’.
Other pamphlets explain the “controversial activities of Christian missionaries”, how their propagators receive funds from Europe and Africa, and how they have helped make Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh Christian-majority states.
Another pamphlet at the Bharatiya Hindu Sena stall asks one to commit to make India “an entirely Hindu nation” and to “construct a magnificent temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya”.
