Ranveer Singh is arguably the biggest superstar of India. After wooing the audience with his character of Alauddin Khilji in the period drama Padmaavat, the actor charmed the audience in an entirely different genre recently when he played the role of a corrupt cop in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. Other than stepping into the shoes of a variety of characters, the actor reveals that he understands the responsibility that comes with fame and how important it is to meet the expectations of the people. He also says that the new age actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and others also have the responsibility to take forward the legacy of Indian cinema.
In a conversation with Mid-Day, Ranveer said the new generation stars need to take the legacy of their seniors ahead. "It's critical for Hindi film business that the newer generation of stars like Ranbir [Kapoor] and I take forward the work that our seniors have put in. They have built the eco-system of the business, and it's heartening to see our efforts paying off. Our numbers are respectable so far,” Ranveer said.
Ranveer Singh is in the happy space right now as the trailer of his next film Gully Boy is all set to hit the internet today. People have already showered him with much praise after the makers of the film released the trailer announcement in which Ranveer in seen rapping. Now fans are eagerly waiting for the trailer to pop up.
On the other hand, recently Rohit Shetty went on record to say that he would want to cast Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor in the remake of Andaz Apna Apna. On this, Ranveer told the tabloid, “I think it's a cult film and I think it's going to be difficult to live up to it. If you are planning to make the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna, you have got a big responsibility as it's one of those timeless comedies. And yes, I would love to collaborate with Ranbir as he is one of my favourite actors. There have been several opportunities and I hope one of them in near future materializes. It will be a very enriching experience working with Ranbir.”
Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh featured together in an episode of Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan Season 5. The two were like true fireballs on the Kouch and revealed many interesting details about their lives. It would definitely be exciting to watch the two on the big screen together.
