Soni Razdan’s befitting reply to troll who said 'Get Lost You British Citizen'

Alia Bhatt is all set to treat her fans with her next film Kalank which has hit the big screens today. For the past few days, the actress along with co-stars Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur, was busy promoting the film and during one of the interviews, she revealed that she cannot vote. The reason being that Alia and her mother Soni Razdan own British as well as Indian citizenship which restricts them from voting in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The moment her statements went viral online, fans started trolling the two actresses and even asked them to leave the country. However, Soni Razdan was not someone to back down. She hit back like a true boss lady at the troll who said, 'Get Lost You British Citizen'.

Soni Razdan took to Twitter to proudly say that she owns a British citizenship but also claimed that she has been a responsible citizen of this country as well. Reacting to the harsh comment, the actress tweeted, "Urging people to vote against hate has nothing to do with citizenship and everything to do with being a human being. We are all human beings first and citizens of the world we live in. Secularism and democratic principles are values and it’s those that I stand for. #VoteOutHate."

In another post, she wrote, "I do actually. My father is Indian. Lived in India since I was 3 months old. Pay taxes. Hold an Overseas Citizen of India card. If my hard earned income is good enough to be used to better this nation then I have a right to voice my opinions too. #VoteOutHate."

Not just Soni Razdan but Alia Bhatt as well has been facing the wrath of a few social media users as well as Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel. For the unversed, during an interview with India Today, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur were asked about how they were going to do their bit to elect the new government. To this Varun, Sonakshi and Aditya were quick to reply, "By voting." Varun futher added, "I think we all will be voting and it's important. In Maharashtra, there's still some time for election to begin for us to go vote. We all will be going and voting and doing our duty and electing the government officials we feel fit to come into power." When the interviewer specifically asked Alia if she was also going to vote, the actress replied, "I can't vote." When asked for the reason, Alia simply said, "passport."

Talking about Kalank, it is Abhishek Varman's period drama which revolves around the Indo-Pakistan partition. It stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles.
