Gully Boy First Reviews: Twitterati laud Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s performance in this Zoya Akhtar film

Gully Boy,  which happens to be a musical drama film, is all set to hit the cinemas this Valentine’s Day on February 14.

Gully Boy First Reviews: Twitterati laud Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s performance in this Zoya Akhtar film

Apna Time Aayega! Bollywood’s upcoming offering Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is creating buzz across social media today. The this Zoya Akhtar directorial film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday and soon after, netizens took to Twitter to share Gully Boy first reviews. The movie, which happens to be a musical drama film, is all set to hit the cinemas this Valentine’s Day on February 14.

Sharing Gully Boy reviews, Twitterati was all praise for Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s performance in Gully Boy. 

“There are yearly 400 movies at the Berlinale. I choose every edition to see 30-35. I chose Gully Boy because it was from India and they are making great movies in the last years. I had no clue what the movie was about. What a present”, wrote a user.

Another user wrote, “Couldn’t have asked for a better viewing for #GullyBoyInBerlin - with the cast & a sea of public. Cheers, claps & whistles!! Every character in the movie owns it. Dreams, love & mehnat!! Bahut hard‘ch!”.

Gully Boy will see the fresh pairing of Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh onscreen. Alia and Kalki Koechlin, play contrasting love interests. While Alia will be seen playing a lively young girl from a background similar to that of Ranveer Sing's character in the film. Kalki will portray the success he aspires to.

Director Zoya Akhtar Zoya said Gully Boy is not a biopic of underground rappers Divine and Naezy but a fictional account of the rap culture. 

"It is not a biopic on Divine and Naezy. It is a fictional story. It is inspired by them and their music. They worked with us on the script to make it authentic. There are lot of things from their life but it is not a biopic." 

Gully Boy is slated to release on February 14.
