Bollywood star Katrina Kaif collapsed on the sets of Farah Khan's film Tees Maar Khan due to over-exertion and lack of sleep, says a doctor.

According to media reports, on Wednesday morning Katrina Kaif collapsed just before shooting for a very important scene was supposed to start. The shotting was to start at Malshej Ghat.

“She had barely finished makeup and walked on to the location, said hi to her co-star Akshay Kumar and director Farah Khan when she collapsed in a heap…just like that!”

For the next three hours panic prevailed on location.

One media report quoting a source said, “No one knew quite what to do since the medical facilities in Malshej were hardly adequate. Akshay quickly called up Mumbai and a doctor was rushed from Mumbai to Malshej. By then Katrina was feeling better, though weak.

Farah suggested they cancel her shooting for the day. But Katrina insisted on shooting in the second-half of the day's schedule.” The reason given by the doctor for her sudden collapse was exertion and lack of sleep.

Katrina has been advised to take it easy. Her spokesperson confirmed the incident. “Katrina was unwell on Wednesday morning. She has been advised some rest. Of late she has been going through tremendous work stress traveling in an out of Mumbai.  Yesterday Katrina  took time off from her schedule in Malshej to attend the FICCI Frames convention. It has been hectic time for her.”

Though Katrina  dismisses it as a one-off incident, she feels there are negative vibes around that affect her. According to DNA, Katrina says, “There is too much negativity around. My health suffered due to this. Constant negativity does affect a person.”

Apart from this, Katrina is also unhappy about the many rumours surrounding her personal and professional life. Certain sections of the media have always projected her and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan as two warring individuals. Katrina has been signed up for a few brands which were earlier endorsed by Aishwarya. Rumour also had it that some of the brands for which Katrina has signed on were earlier offered to Aishwarya.

She says, “Actors, who invest a lot of time and energy, will never put down each other. Every one of us has their own space in the industry. These stories are either publicity mechanisms or someone just writes them to create a controversy.”

Coming back to her health, she insists that now she is feeling better. She says, “Health-wise there is nothing to worry about. Though I had gone through a surgery sometime ago, it was nothing serious.”

This year Katrina will be seen playing characters with varied shades in her movies - in Rajneeti she goes de-glam and in Tees Maar Khan and Dostana 2 she will be back to the song-and-dance routine in a super-glam avatar.

She says, “This is one of the most important years in my career as I'm experimenting with different kinds of roles. I can't be one-dimensional and just look good on-screen. I have to get myself out of my comfort zone and see how audiences receive me only for my performances, not looks. That's quite a test.”
