The Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar won hearts with Jolly LLB 2 and, now his upcoming film Toilet: EK Prem Katha, has taken the internet by storm. The film’s trailer was released on Sunday during the mid-innings of the thrill-packed India Vs South Africa match.  The double treat got everyone talking and, Akki’s powerful and enticing dialogues from the promo became an instant hit. However, Akshay wasn’t the first choice to play the lead role in the film, fresh reports suggest.

The makers of did not find Khiladi Kumar fit for Keshav's role as they wanted someone young to play the character, according to a Inuth report. However, the writers Siddharth and Garima stood for Akshay. They were adamant to cast the actor and believed he could pull off the role with ease.

The producer of the movie Neeraj Pandey was not convinced that the Rustom actor would suit the role well. “Akshay was always the first choice for me and Siddharth. We did face a little bit of friction from the production house on whether he should be on board but we both were always adamant on having him”, Garima was quoted as saying to Inuth.

 

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha trailer starts with a slapstick yet subtle humour which embellishes most of the film. The movie highlights the importance of sanitation in India, while slamming the practice of open defecation in the country. Keshav (Akshay Kumar), a village-boy wants desperately to get married.  He finally meets the love of his life, Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and gets hitched to him. But even after marriage, he’s rendered single.  Have a look at the much talked-about trailer.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha also stars Bhumi Pednekar in a pivotal role. The film is all set to hit the cinemas on August 11. So, stay tuned for a delightful and eye-opening watch of all times.
