Nityanand Rai, BJP Unit chief of Bihar contested General elections 2019 from Ujiarpur Lok Sabha seat and won by over 2 lakh votes. He defeated former Union Minister Upendra Kushwana from Rashtriya Lok Samata Party. The parliamentary constituency went to polls in the fourth phase of 2019 elections.
