American rapper Pitbull has apologised to his fans for not being able to perform at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after the singer failed to reach Dubai due to a snag in his plane.
The curtain-raiser of the T20 league is supposed to be held on February 14th at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. But the plane which was scheduled to take the Grammy winner to the venue broke down during the customary tests.
"I wanna start off by saying I was very, very excited to be able to go to Dubai and perform for the HBL Pakistan Super League cricket tournament. But, unfortunately, what has happened was … it was such a long flight … they took the plane for a test flight, and when they landed, pieces of the engine had come apart," said Pitbull.

He added that he tried his best to work a way out with the Pakistan Cricket Board but to no avail.
“Between the Pakistan Cricket Board … we had tried our hardest to get over to Dubai. I just wanna say I’m sorry, I apologise. Deeply apologise for that,” he said.
The 38-year old also acknowledged ‘the love and support’ from the fans hoping that he would get to entertain them again sometime soon.
“Enjoy, have fun, thank you to HBL and Super League, for even thinking of me to be able to come to the cricket tournament. Really appreciate it! Hope to see you guys next year or any time soon,” he promised, before signing off with a wave of his hand.”
