Pakistan Prime Minister is holding a crucial all party meeting in Islamabad in wake of recent developments that has led to heightened Indo-Pak hostility.
The specific agenda of the meeting is to send "a clear message to the outside world following the ongoing Indian aggression along the Line of Control", reported the Karachi-based Dawn newspaper.
Nothing binds Pakistan like India, as, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, who has been going hammer and tongs at Sharif after the Panama leaks, has confirmed his participation.
The representatives of all the major political parties are attending the meeting, including PPP’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aitizaz Ahsan, Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Khursheed Shah and Naveed Qamar, Mahmood Khan Achakzai from Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Maulana Fazlur Rehman from Jamiat Ulema Islam (F) and Dr. Farooq Sattar from MQM, Pakistan, reported The News.
“The timing of the meeting is significant, because Imran Khan's PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf) is spearheading a vociferous campaign against the ruling PML-N over the Panamagate scandal," the Tribune wrote.
A member of Pakistan's federal cabinet told Dawn that the government wants the world to know that Pakistan is united against Indian "warmongering." He said the government will take suggestions from other parties for more effective diplomacy on the Kashmir issue.
"Indian hostilities unite politicians at capital huddle," said The Express Tribune newspaper.
