Ever since Hina Khan has made her appearance felt at Cannes 2019, the actress has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs for various reasons. Just recently, editor of Filmfare Magazine, Jitesh Pillai, took to his Instagram stories and mocked Hina Khan for her presence at the French Riviera by sharing a picture of her with the caption "Cannes has suddenly become Chandivali studios kya?" This comment sparked fire in the television world as many actors and actresses came out in support of Hina Khan. After voicing out his support to the Kasauti Zindagii Kay 2 actress, Ishqbaaaz fame Nakuul Mehta took to his social media to write an open letter to Jitesh Pillai.
From TV actors like Karanvir Bohra, Erica Fernandes, Arjun Bijlani to Nia Sharma, celebrities raised their voices against the ‘uncalled’ comment by Jitesh Pillai. Nakuul Mehta was also among them who took to his twitter to support Hina Khan instantly after the controversy happened. However, this time the actor took to his social media to share an open letter addressed to Jitesh Pillai in which he thanked him for nothing else but uniting the industry into one. Nakuul thanked him that because of his comment the Tv celebs found their voice that made sure that they are properly heard.
In the letter, Nakuul Mehta also pointed out the silver lining in Jitesh Pillai's uncalled remark. He wrote, "The silver lining of that uncalled for remark you made is that for the first time a lot of us collectively stood up and made out voices heard. It hit home. You got a lot of us engaging in a dialogue and coming out in support of a colleague who on her own merit has blazed new trails. Thank you, if for nothing else but for shaking our collective conscience to wake up and stand up for the respect our work demands." Check out the complete letter here-
On the related note, soon after Jitesh Pillai faced the heat for trolling Hina Khan, he shared an apology to the actress and said that his comment was misconstructed. Hina also replied to his apology and said, "I was persistent, I m constant n I will b efficient again n again again. Don't know where I belong, don't know if I have to, as d Place don't define me! Bcause as always I will work my a** off n I will make my own PLACE. My promise,a proud outsider from my Chandiwali studios."
