It has been just couple of weeks when Star Plus launched The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. With Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as super judge and internet sensations Mallika Dua, Zakir Khan and Hussain Dalal as judges cum mentors, the show kicked off in a style. However, just after elimination of contestants, this week saw eviction of its judges. Well, Zakir, Mallika and Hussain are no more part of the team and have been showd the exit door after they failed to bring TRP.
The three You Tube stars were brought on board to select and nurture the budding talents in comedy genre. As per a report in Mid-Day, Bollywood celebrities Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade will replace the current three judges. ''The last few seasons were a big draw. But, this season didn’t kick off on a great note. The makers arrived at the decision after seeing the dismal TRPs (TV rating),'' a source told the daily.
The decision was taken after much brainstorming between production house and channel. The final call was however taken by Akshay. ''Shreyas was signed on Saturday and Sajid completed the paperwork last evening," the source informed. The new judges will be seen on screen from October 28.
On a related note, Zakir rose to fame with his stand-up comedy while Mallika's snapchat videos made her an internet star. Hussain, besides being an actor is also a writer. He has been the part of writing team of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
