Bollywood actress Tabu, who is basking on the success of her last film Andhadhun, is said to have been roped in by the makers of upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia F, the film is based on a father-daughter relationship and it is said that Tabu will be seen in a cameo in the film. Going by the latest reports in Spotboye, Tabu’s role in the film is small but very influential. Tabu and Saif were last seen on the big screen together in Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Currently, Tabu is busy promoting her upcoming film De De Pyaar De which also stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. Talking about her role in the film, she said, "I can completely relate to Manju's character as I have similar traits in me in real life. Although I haven't gone through everything that she goes through in life, I can still relate to it because that's how I would react to a situation in the real world. I am sure Luv (Ranjan) thought the same way and that's the reason he offered me to play this part. If ever I am thrown in a situation like this in life, I will also take steps and act the way Manju acts."
Coming back to Jawaani Jaaneman, the film is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and revolves around his relationship with his daughter. Alaia will be seen playing the onscreen daughter of Saif Ali Khan. Earlier, Saif told a leading daily, "She has all the qualities we were looking for in the young lead, the charm and energy to take the film to the level that it needs. We are lucky to have found our perfect cast and I'm looking forward to work with Alaia." It is also said that the makers zeroed in on Alaia after screen-testing 50 aspirants.
Saif Ali Khan has already started shooting for the film.
