The victim, a 26-year-old doctor, was rushed to the Hospital where she was admitted with serious burn injuries.
The accused, Zerid Jhon, has been arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
The incident occurred when the boy had gone to her girlfriend for patch up, where they had an argument and later, while the doctor was leaving, Jhon took out a bottle containing acid and threw it on her.
There had been some problems between the two as it was revealed that the boy was a divorcee and was having an affair with another woman.
This had angered the accused who had come prepared as the acid bottle was already with him.
Another person was also injured in the attack who was trying to save the girl.
