According to sources, security forces received input that two-three militants are present in a house in the area.
An encounter has started at Chandaji area of Bandipora, said the Kashmir Zone Police on Tuesday.
An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at Shokbaba forest in which three terrorists were killed.
The security operation was launched on a specific input by police regarding the presence of terrorists in the forest area of Shokbaba Sumlar-Aragam area of Bandipora.
As per the police records, Talha was operating as a commander of the LeT in the areas of Bandipora and wanted by law for his involvement in terror crimes and civilian atrocities, the officer said.
Three militants were gunned down by security forces during an encounter in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. The gunfight had broken out after the security forces had received inputs about the presence of terrorists in the nearby area. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also violated ceasefire along the LoC.
A search operation was initiated in the area earlier this week after an Army patrol team were fired at by militants.
The security forces have launched a cordon and search operation in Bon Mohalla of Bandipora's Hajin to track down the terrorists.
A senior CRPF officer said that the synergy among the security forces has been excellent and this is significantly responsible for the successes we have been getting.
According to reports, one jawan was also martyred in the gunfight which broke out while security forces were carrying out a search operation to locate militants in Hajin area’s Chandergeer village.
