Marlon Samuels celebrates a dismissal

India vs West Indies, Highlights, 3rd ODI in Pune:

India vs West Indies, 3rd ODI: Marlon Samuels claimed three wickets, while Jason Holder, Obed McCoy and Ashley Nurse chipped in with three wickets each as West Indies defeated India by 43 runs to level the five-match series 1-1 in Pune. Magnificent victory for Windies! They were competitive in the first ODI, came close in the second and now have finally crossed the hurdle in the third attempt. Mind you, they have beaten India in spite of the home team having their first-choice bowling attack and more importantly, Virat Kohli scoring a century. Credit should be given to them. They deserve to be on level terms. India's vulnerable point was touched and exposed today. Chasing a stiff target, they lost Rohit Sharma early. Then, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan put together a 79-run stand which was followed by a few more partnerships which involved the Indian skipper. Kohli held one end tightly and went on to notch yet another century. However, the rest of the batting unit failed to give him enough support. Eventually, Marlon Samuels managed to pick the prized scalp of Kohli and the writing was on the wall. Still, they managed to drag it for a few overs, although the result was pretty much inevitable. Windies were excellent with their intensity in the field. They felt the pressure initially when Kohli and Dhawan were going strong. But the tourists never lost hope. They managed to chip away wickets at regular intervals which kept them very much in the game. It can be considered as a masterstroke by Jason Holder to give the ball to Marlon Samuels who earned them the wicket of the danger man, Virat Kohli.(SCORECARD)

IND vs WI, 3rd ODI HIGHLIGHTS from Pune:

21.22 IST: West Indies (283/9) beat India (240) by 43 runs in Pune to level five-match series 1-1. Samuels 3/12, Kohli 107. Jasprit Bumrah OUT! WINDIES WIN BY 43 RUNS! Samuels gets his third and is all smiles. A short delivery outside off, Bumrah goes back with the square cut but gets a thick outside edge. It brushes the keeper's gloves and lobs towards Holder at first slip. The Windies skipper makes no mistake and the series is now levelled 1-1!

21.08 IST: FOUR! Quicker and shorter outside off, Yadav gets it away off the outer half of his bat as he attempts the late cut. It speeds away to the third man fence. IND 234/8 in 45.1 overs.

21.01 IST: Khaleel Ahmed is the new batsman. 59 off 42 balls.

21.00 IST: OUT! Roach removes Chahal for 3. Chahal is gone! Roach digs in another short delivery, right at the body of the batsman. Chahal turns inside the crease with his pull shot but gets a big fat top edge. It flies down to fine leg and Keemo Paul (sub) sprints across to his right, covers good ground and takes a fine catch. End is nigh for India. India 225/8 in 43 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

20.53 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal is in next.

20.52 IST: OUT! Samuels removes Kohli for 107. BOWLED 'EM! Game, set and match! Surely right? Master stroke by Holder. Marlon Samuels has not bowled for as long as I can remember. He is brought into the attack and he gets the man on whose India's hopes were pinned. Samuels bowls it flatter and on middle, it is slightly shorter in length. Virat Kohli goes back to pull but the ball stays a touch low. Sneaks under the bat and uproots the stumps behind. The Windies are ecstatic and there is pin-drop silence in the stadium here. Kohli can't believe it as he walks back dejected and disgusted. India need another 64 in 51. India 220/7 in 41.3 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

20.44 IST: Powerplay 2 signalled. Windies can now employ five fielders outside the ring till the end of this match. A bowling change also. Obed McCoy is back on. He has been a little expensive in the first couple of spells. Will he redeem himself?

20.39 IST: FOUR! Runs from Kumar's bat will be an added bonus for India. Holder serves it on a length and outside off, Kumar makes room and goes hard at it. Fails to middle his shot but still manages to get enough wood behind it as he drills it down the ground. Hemraj from mid on dives over the ball and lets it through for a boundary.

20.30 IST: Jason Holder to Virat Kohli, 1 run. Century number 38 for Virat Kohli! Three in a row for him. He is also the first Indian to do so. Champion. Relentless. Ruthless. Reaches there by pulling a short delivery down to fine leg for a run. The stadium erupts. But a subdued celebration by the Indian skipper. He knows that the job is not done yet. His team is in a slight spot of bother and he needs to stay till the end.

20.25 IST: FOUR! Great shot! A slightly overpitched delivery outside off, Kohli picks it up and smashes it over the bowler's head for a boundary. The Indian skipper has to do the bulk of the scoring from hereon. IND 198/5 in 36.2 overs.

20.21 IST: OUT! Holder removes Dhoni for 7. Dhoni falls and there is a stunned silence in the stadium! Holder with the breakthrough and he is ecstatic. He bowls a gentle delivery in the channel outside off. Dhoni's intention was to run it down to third man but gets a thick outside edge in the process. Shai Hope makes no mistake and Windies will feel that they are in with a chance now. India 194/5 in 35.5 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

21.16 IST: FOUR! Nicely done! Short and wide outside off, Kohli calmly waits for it inside the crease and then at the last moment he just ramps it down to third man for a boundary.

20.07 IST: FOUR! Those wrists on display again. Allen delivers a full ball around leg, Kohli attacks it with all his might and whips it over mid-wicket for a powerful boundary.

20.05 IST: MS Dhoni comes to the centre amidst a big roar from the crowd. Last recognized batting pair in the middle for India.

20.04 IST: OUT! Nurse removes Rishabh Pant for 24. GONE! There is a slight deflection. Pant has to go. A delivery sliding down the leg side, it's full in length and Pant shapes up for the paddle sweep. He fails to middle his shot and as soon as Shai Hope collects the ball, he puts in an appeal. The umpire shakes his head and seeing his keeper very sure, Holder goes for the DRS. The replays roll in and Ultra Edge finds a slight spike when the ball goes past Pant's gloves. Rishabh is given the walking order. India have lost their fourth wicket now. 112 needed off 113 balls. India 172/4 in 31.1 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

19.57 IST: FOUR! Short in length and outside off, Kohli stands back and hammers it to wide long off for a boundary.

19.52 IST: Fabian Allen to Rishabh Pant, no run. Direct hit would have been interested. Tossed up ball on middle, Pant helps it towards short fine leg and Kohli comes out of the crease in search of a run. Pant is not ready and the Indian skipper has to charge back. The throw comes at his end and Kohli has to dive to make it in. Seems to have hurt his fingers in the process and the physio is called.

19.49 IST: SIX! PANT ON FIRE! A left-hander against a left-arm spinner, always a delight to watch. Flighted ball on off, Pant rushes down the track and clobbers it over the bowler's head for a biggie. IND 161/3 in 28.3 overs.

19.46 IST: FOUR! What a shot! Poor delivery to start with, it's full and wide outside off, Pant reaches out for it and lifts it with good timing. It flies over extra cover and goes for a boundary. Good calculative risk by the young man. The fielders are inside the circle and there was no risk at all. IND 149/3 in 27.4 overs.

19.42 IST: FOUR! Easy pickings! Short in length and spinning down the leg side. Pant stands tall inside the crease and hammers it wide of short fine leg. The fielder in the deep has no chance of cutting it off.

19.40 IST: Rishabh Pant DROPPED! But what an attempt by Fabian Allen!!! Short in length and outside off, Pant rocks back and slaps it uppishly square of the wicket on the off side. Allen dives full length to his left, gets his hand to it but fails to hang on. Pant takes a single to get off the mark. Really an outstanding effort by the debutant. If you don't consider the dropped catch, he has stopped a certain boundary there.

19.38 IST: Rishabh Pant arrives at number 5. Promotion for him? A wide first slip in place.

19.37 IST: OUT! Obed McCoy removes Rayudu for 22. Rayudu drags it on! A wicket against the run of play. The line is too close to play the run down shot to third man. It's a touch short on middle and off, Rayudu opens the face but is cramped for room. End result, he has dragged it back onto the stumps. A disappointing end to a good looking knock. India 135/3 in 25.4 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

19.30 IST: FOUR! Better shot! Bowler under pressure. Flighted and full outside off, Ambati walks forward and lofts it over covers for a fabulous boundary.

19.29 IST: FOUR! Poor delivery. Drops it short and down the leg side, all Rayudu has to do is to beat short fine leg and he does exactly that with his sweep shot. A boundary results.

19.27 IST: SIX! WHAT A WAY TO CONCLUDE THE OVER! This has gone all the way! Those wrists of Virat Kohli. Really made of steel. A flighted ball on middle, Virat latches onto it, brings his bottom hand into play and muscles it over wide long on for a maximum. 10 from the over.

19.23 IST: FIFTY! Virat Kohli scores his 49th ODI fifty. Fine shot! The moment the ball drops short, Kohli pushes his weight deep inside the crease and pummels it over square leg for a boundary. India 104/2 in 21.2 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

19.18 IST: Ashley Nurse to Virat Kohli, no run. Floated on middle, Kohli draws forward and mistimes his shot back to the bowler. IND 97/2 in 20 overs.

19.12 IST: Drinks break. Windies have managed to break the partnership. 196 more in the bank and they will have to keep picking wickets to stay in hunt. Ambati Rayudu has joined his skipper in the middle.

19.10 IST: OUT! Nurse removes Dhawan for 35. Given lbw! Another start not converted by Dhawan. Nurse delivers an arm ball around off from 'round the wicket. It skids on after landing and hits Dhawan on the pads who is down on one knee attempting a sweep shot. They appeal and the finger goes up immediately. Shikhar doesn't even bother referring it. This was that plumb. India 88/2 in 17.2 overs vs West Indies (283/9) in Pune.

19.01 IST: Fabian Allen to Virat Kohli, 1 run. Takes his front leg forward and forces it down through mid on for a run. Easy going for India in this run chase.

18.53 IST: FOUR! Even better! Obed overdoes his line and serves a length ball wide outside off. Virat leans well forward and creams it straight down the ground for a glorious boundary. IND 74/1 in 12.2 overs.

18.52 IST: FOUR! Sliding down the leg side, Kohli picks it off his pads and nudges it fine down the leg side for a boundary.

18.48 IST: FOUR! And again! Obed once more offers room outside off and Dhawan shows no mercy. He gets on top of the bounce and powers it past the diving extra cover fielder for a boundary.

18.46 IST: FOUR! Width on offer outside off, Dhawan exercises his arms and whacks it through extra cover. Right through the gap it goes and reaches the fence in no time. 50-run stand comes up.

18.44 IST: Powerplay 2 signalled. Now, a maximum of 4 fielders can be kept outside the circle till the 40th over. Bowling change as well. Obed McCoy to bowl.

18.42 IST: FOUR! Nicely played! Holder bowls it a bit short and around off, Dhawan rocks back and punches it sweetly through covers for a cracking boundary.

18.37 IST: FOUR! Wow! Fullish and outside off, Kohli strides forward and drives it with excellent timing through the gap at extra cover and mid off. The ball finds the sweet spot of his bat with great consistency. 8000 ODI runs for Virat Kohli while batting at number 3.

18.34 IST: Jason Holder to Shikhar Dhawan, no run. Drifting down the leg side, Dhawan clips it off his pads but finds the short fine leg fielder.

18.22 IST: FOUR! AUTHORITATIVE! This is the shot you pay to watch! As soon as Holder lands it full and outside off, Kohli transfers his weight onto the front foot and drives it crisply through covers. Delightful.

18.18 IST: FOUR! Quality shot! Just gives this the direction with beautiful timing. Roach dishes out a good length ball outside off, Dhawan elegantly leans into the shot and pierces the gap at covers. Not stopping this one. IND 24/1 in 4.2 overs.

18.16 IST: FOUR! Kohli sweeps some quick runs. He receives a length delivery on his pads and neatly deflects it to fine leg for a boundary. Just cannot bowl there to any batsman, forget Virat.

18.13 IST: FOUR! Dhawan drives the directionless ball for maximum! Wrong line and duly punished. Holder serves a full length delivery on the leg stump line, Dhawan picks it off his pads and whips it in front of square leg for a boundary. IND 15/1 in 3.2 overs.

18.07 IST: In walks India's superstar and skipper, Virat Kohli. He doesn't make runs nowadays, he makes records.

18.06 IST: OUT! BOWLED! Right through the gate! Massive breakthrough for Windies. Holder provides it and jumps in joy. Rohit will have to go back after hitting a couple of good-looking boundaries. Jason angles in a length delivery in line of the stumps, Rohit tries to play with a straight bat but plays down the wrong line. The ball nips away ever so slightly to beat his willow and then knocks the middle stump down. Sharma was completely opened up there. Beautiful delivery. IND 9/1 in 2 Overs

18.05 IST: FOUR! Glorious! A pitched up delivery outside off, Rohit uses his long hands to good effect. Leans into the drive and caresses it through cover-point for a boundary. IND 9/0 in 1.4 Overs

18.03 IST: FOUR! Sharma is off the mark! He has a gift of timing and placement. A back of a length delivery around off, Rohit goes on his toes and creams his back foot punch through extra cover. IND 4/0 in 1 over

18.00 IST: Back for the run chase. The players are back on the field. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are the Indian openers. A target of 284 in front of them. Can they provide a brisk start? Kemar Roach runs in with a slip in place.

17.55 IST: This can be a tricky run chase now. The Indians are still favorites to overhaul the target, especially under lights where the ball is expected to skid onto the bat even more. The Windies bowlers have not had a great time so far but tonight is the day where they need to step up. Will India take an unassailable lead or will the Windies level the series? Join us in a while to find out.

17.45 IST: The Indian bowlers were led by Bumrah. He was exceptional throughout as he finished with a 4-fer. Kuldeep too had a good day at the office. Chahal, Khaleel and Kumar though had a day to forget, especially Kumar, who was taken to the cleaners. Had these three bowled well, India would have been chasing something below 250.

Kuldeep Yadav gives a quick interview to Murali Kartik. He says that the wicket was good but there wasn't much turn like the last game. Adds that he just tried to bowl wicket-to-wicket line. On batsmen not picking him, he replies that he just keeps on mixing his variations. Also states that it's all about deceiving the batsmen in the air. Praises Shai Hope for his batting. Feels that it's difficult to adjust lengths while switching formats and reckons more you play, better you get.

17.40 IST: Holder then along with Hope added a 76-run stand which steadied the ship. The latter continued but just when it was time for him to accelerate, he was dismissed by a beauty from Bumrah, 5 short of a ton. It would have been back-to-back tons for him. Ashley Nurse though came to the rescue and his cameo has given the Windies a total with which they can at least fight.

17.35 IST: 28 runs from the last two overs has seen the Windies finish with a competitive total on the board. Who would have thought they would cross the 280-run mark when they were reeling at 121-5. Their top order once again failed to make an impact. Hetmyer and Hope stitched another handy stand. The former was really hitting the ball well but lost his wicket at the wrong time. Holder then along with Hope added a 76-run stand which steadied the ship. The latter continued but just when it was time for him to accelerate, he was dismissed by a beauty from Bumrah, 5 short of a ton. It would have been back-to-back tons for him. Ashley Nurse though came to the rescue and his cameo has given the Windies a total with which they can at least fight.

17.30 IST: West Indies score 283/9 in 50 overs against India in Pune. Bumrah 4/35, Hope 95, Nurse 40. Jasprit Bumrah to Obed McCoy, A dot! No fifer for Bumrah. A yorker outside off, McCoy swings but misses. 7 from the last over AND WINDIES FINISH WITH 283/9!

17.22 IST: FOUR! Perfect end to the over! 21 from it. They needed this especially after the last over. Nurse walks across and flicks it through square leg for a boundary.  WI 276/8 in 49 overs.

17.21 IST: FOUR! 15 from the first 3. Full again and there is room on offer. Nurse has smashed it through covers and another boundary results. This is turning out to be a brilliant innings from Nurse.

17.19 IST: FOUR! 10 from the first two! Pressure on the bowler! Nicely maneuvered. Very full and outside off, Nurse opens the face of the bat at the very last moment and guides it through backward point for a boundary. WI 265/8 in 48.2 overs.

17.18 IST: SIX! All the way! That was right in the zone. Full and outside off, also it is the slower one. Nurse picks it and sends it sailing over the long on fence. Ideal start to the over, they need to make this a big one.

17.16 IST: Just one run from the over. Jasprit Bumrah to Kemar Roach, no run. Make that 5, just 1 run from the 48th over. Another yorker and Roach can only jam it out. WI 255/8 in 48 overs.

17.09 IST: SIX! That is exactly what the doctor ordered! 250 up. On a length around off, Roach hits it over the long on fence for a biggie. WI 254/8 in 46.5 overs.

17.07 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on.

17.01 IST: FOUR! Cut and cut hard! Chahal bowls it wider and shorter outside off, Nurse cuts it hard through point and the ball races away. So two dots to begin the over and the next two go for 10.

17.00 IST: SIX! NAILED! A tossed up ball on middle, Nurse goes down on one knee and slog sweeps it over mid-wicket for a biggie.

16.57 IST: Kemar Roach is the new man in.

16.56 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Shai Hope for 95. BOWLED 'EM! A corker of a yorker from Bumrah. If there is one ball you do not want to be facing in your 90s, it is that one. It just does not get better than this. A toe-crusher on leg stump, Hope manages to get his boot out of the way but does not get his bat down in time. It sneaks through and hits the leg pole. Hope misses out on back-to-back tons and Windies' hope now of reaching a competitive total has just been dented big time. West Indies 227/8 in 43.5 overs vs India in Pune.

16.49 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on.

16.46 IST: Ashley Nurse's turn to bat.

16.45 IST: OUT! Chahal removes Fabian Allen for 5. Allen falls! So a short stay at the crease for the debutant. He goes for a big shot a little too early. Was not needed as there were still around 8 overs to go. Chahal does the smart thing as he tosses it above the eye line. Allen's eyes lit up as he sees the flight and goes for the heave across the line. The ball takes the top edge and goes high up in the air towards long on. Pant there settles under it and takes it. He almost loses his balance after catching it but maintains it. First wicket for Chahal.  West Indies 217/7 in 41.3 overs vs India in Pune.

16.43 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal is back on.

16.41 IST: FOUR! Allen has played that fine! Outside off, Allen waits for it and then guides it through short third man. It is very fine and a boundary results. Not sure if he intended to play it that fine but he won't care.

16.38 IST: FOUR! Pierced the gap to precision! Tossed up outside off, Hope leans into it and times it through covers. No one in the deep so a boundary. He moves onto a number which is considered unlucky by the Aussies.

16.35 IST: FOUR! Exqusite! Takes a few steps ahead and makes it into a half volley and strokes it through extra cover. The ball races away. 200 up for the Windies and Hope moves into the 80s.

16.33 IST: Debutant Fabian Allen is the new batsman.

16.32 IST: OUT! Bhuvneshwar removes Holder for 32. Holder holes out and it's a timely breakthrough for the Men in Blue. Kumar has struck early in this spell. A knuckle delivery, landing on a shortish length outside off, Holder shapes up for a big shot but mishits it high in the air towards long off. Jadeja (sub) moves forward a bit from the deep and takes the skier safely. End of a 76-run stand for Windies. West Indies 197/6 in 38.3 overs vs India in Pune.

16.26 IST: SIX! What a shot! This time by the Windies skipper. A flighted full ball around leg, a googly, Holder clears his front leg and heaves it over wide long on for a maximum. Pressing on the accelerator.

16.25 IST: SIX! That has gone the distance! A slower one by Khaleel, full and around off, Shai picks it up early, takes his front leg away from the line and hoists it over the bowler's end. 11 from the over, a good one for the touring team.  WI 188/5 in 37 overs.

16.20 IST: Physio comes out. Jasprit Bumrah seems to have hurt himself while fielding the ball. Maybe, he has pulled his calf muscle. Heading off to the pavilion.

16.12 IST: SIX! Take that, says Shai Hope! A short ball and it sits up to be hit. Hope transfers his weight onto the back foot and then pulls it over the mid-wicket fence. Also the 50-run stand is up, another good one for the visitors but they would want this one to continue.  WI 171/5 in 34.2 overs.

16.09 IST: FOUR! Good shot! Goes down on one knee and sweeps it fine through the leg side. Kumar in the deep square leg region, runs to his right and puts in a dive but is not able to stop the ball.

16.08 IST: Kuldeep Yadav returns.

16.07 IST: FIFTY! Shai Hope scores his 7th ODI fifty. Khaleel Ahmed to Shai Hope, 1 run. Shortish outside off, Hope punches it through cover-point for a run. 50 up for Hope, his 7th in ODIs. He loves playing against India doesn't he? He though holds the key here for the Windies, needs to stay there till the end if Windies are to reach a competitive total.  West Indies 158/5 in 33 overs vs India in Pune.

16.02 IST: 150 up for Windies. Yuzvendra Chahal to Jason Holder, 1 run. On the pads, worked down to long on for a run.

15.56 IST: Holder DROPPED! Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Jason Holder, 2 runs.  In the air... but safe! Good effort from Bumrah but what shot was that from Holder? Absolutely needless. He dances down the track and tries to clear mid-on. Hits it off the higher portion of the bat and it goes high up in the air. Bumrah from that position backtracks and tries to take it but does not reach it. Two taken from the batsmen.

15.51 IST: Drinks!

15.43 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back on.

15.39 IST: Holder wants a change of helmet and finally the 12th man comes out with a new one. Also, the Windies players are wearing a black arm band as Ambris' dad expired two days back.

15.37 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Jason Holder, no run. On the helmet! A good bumper on middle, it skids off the surface. Holder is late onto the pull and is hit on the helmet. He has helmet off, might have been broken.

15.30 IST: FOUR! Nicely played! Found the gap through the off side field and it races away. Floats it up outside off, Hope opens the face and hits it through cover-point for a boundary.

15.24 IST: Jasprit Bumrah is back on. Going for the kill is India here.

15.22 IST: Jason Holder walks out to the middle. The skipper needs to lead from the front here.

15.21 IST: OUT! Kuldeep Yadav removes Powell for 4. This was on the cards wasn't it? Powell was not comfortable playing Kuldeep and the left-arm spinner has got his man. half the side back in the hut for the Windies. Another googly on middle, Powell does not pick it and goes for the heave. The ball turns away and that is what does him in. It takes the outside edge and goes in between Dhoni and Sharma at first slip. The latter reacts quickly, dives to his left and takes another sharp catch. Another failure for Rovman and the Windies are in deep trouble here. West Indies 121/5 in 23.4 overs vs India in Pune.

15.10 IST: Khaleel Ahmed is back on.

15.07 IST: Rovman Powell strides out to the middle.

15.06 IST: OUT! Kuldeep removes dangerous Hetmyer for 37. Hetmyer's foot is on the line! Nelson strikes! Big, big blow for the Windies. Just as the partnership started to flourish, India have broken through. The crowd here erupts as they know how a big wicket this is. India will be relieved to see the back of Shimron. A leg-spinner from Kuldeep on off, this is slightly behind the length he has been bowling untill now so, the ball gets enough time to turn. Hetmyer goes for the slog sweep but is beaten by the turn away. Dhoni quickly whips the bails off and appeals. The umpire takes it upstairs. time for the replays and it shows that Hetmyer has nothing behind the line. The youngster does not convert his start this time. India will now look to bring things under their control once again. West Indies 111/4 in 19.3 overs.

This is the quicker one on the pads, Hetmyer goes down on one knee quickly and then sweeps it over the square leg fence. WI 105/3 in 19 overs

14.56 IST: FOUR! Great timing from Hetmyer as he hits Kuldeep square of the wicket for a boundary. A good effort from Pant wasn't enough to stop the ball. Too short and it has been put away! Hetmyer reads the turn, goes back and cuts it through point. Pant in the deep dives but his effort goes in vain. WI 97/3 in 18 overs

14.40 IST: Drinks! So India on top at the moment. They have dismissed the top order of the Windies. The visitors though now have their two best batsmen of the series out there. They would dearly love another big partnership form them. India on the other hand will want tot get these two back in the hut as early as possible.

14.32 IST: OUT! Khaleel removes Samuels for 9. Khaleel is all pumped up as he straightaway runs in joy. Big blow to Windies and the sorry form of Marlon Samuels continues. 14.29 IST: FOUR! WI 52/2 in 12.1 overs

14.24 IST: Just one from Chahal's first over. Samuels and Hope are in no hurry at the moment

*Chahal is into the attack now

14.19 IST: FOUR! Hope once again looks in great touch here. A back foot punch, one of the toughest shots to play and he has done it with ease. Slightly shorter and outside off, SH stands tall and punches it through covers for a boundary. Not good bowling this by Khaleel, at his pace, this length, just won't work. WI 46/2 in 9.3 overs

14.15 IST: Have India got another? Samuels has been given LBW but he has taken the review. It might just clip the stumps. On-field call might just play a role here. NOT OUT! It is missing! Excellent use of the review there by Samuels and the on-field call has to be overturned. Bumrah lands it on a length around middle, Samuels is on his toes as he tries to flick. Misses to get hit high on the pads. The players appeal and the umpire agrees. Samuels walks upto his partner and then signals the 'T'. Replays show that the ball is going over the stumps. MS survives to fight another day.

14.13 IST: OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! What a masterstroke by the Indian skipper there. He changed ends for Bumrah and it has worked wonders. Once again it is a delivery which is slightly short, hits the deck hard on that one and gets extra bounce. It angles away. Powell tries to defend it off the back foot but the ball takes the outside edge and flies towards Rohit Sharma at widish first slip. He takes a sharp catch moving towards his right. Both the openers back in the hut without making an impact again. Second wicket for Bumrah.  Bumrah sends back Powell for 21. WI 38/2 in 8.1 overs

14.08 IST: FOUR! An expensive start by Ahmed here. Another poor ball, on the pads, easy pickings for Powell. He flicks it over square leg and into the fence. WI 37/1 in 7.5 overs

14.06 IST: SIX! All the way! That was right in the zone for Powell. Short and outside off, Powell is quick to rock onto the back foot and then pull it over mid-wicket for a biggie. WI 33/1 in 7.2 overs

*Shai Hope is the new batsman. Khaleel Ahmed is into the attack.

13.58 IST: OUT! Bumrah removes Hemraj for 15. In the air... and what a catch by Dhoni. WOW! Bumrah has the last laugh. West Indies 25/1 in 5.5 overs vs India in Pune

13.57 IST: SIX! Stand and deliver! What a shot that! Nothing wrong with the delivery. Slightly shorter in length around off, Hemraj picks the length early and then pulls it over the long on fence for a biggie. 10 from 2 balls. That boundary probably must have broken the shackles. WI 25/0 in 5.4 overs

13.56 IST: FOUR! Up and over! A much-needed boundary! Full and outside off, Hemraj tries to go over covers but he ends up slicing it over cover-point and the ball trickles into the fence. WI 19/0 in 5.3 overs

13.55 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Chandrapaul Hemraj, Another appeal but once again the ball has pitched outside leg. Full and around leg, Hemraj tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. Bumrah starts appealing but then bails out.

13.48 IST: Review time! An appeal for an LBW has been turned down. Hemraj is the man in question. Pitching seems to be an issue. And it has pitched way outside leg. A poor review by India. Bumrah bowls it on a length around leg, Hemraj goes for the drive but misses to get hit on the pads. The players appeal but the umpire shakes his head. Virat Kohli after a chat with Dhoni and Bumrah goes for the review. Replays roll in and it show that the ball has pitched outside leg. That is that then. India lose their sole review and very early into the game.

13.46 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Kieran Powell, BEATEN! Once again a loose shot by Powell. A delivery pitched just ahead of a shorter length outside off. Powell hangs his bat out, maybe trying to guide it down to third man but gets beaten.

13.41 IST: FOUR! Hemraj too is off the mark with a boundary! Short and outside off, not the best of deliveries. Hemraj puts it away with a punch off the back foot through cover-point and the ball races away. Needs to keep it on the stumps on this wicket. There is hardly any swing on offer and the ball is coming onto the bat really well. WI 9/0 in 2.2 overs

13.38 IST: An excellent over from Bumrah ends. Maiden one

*Jasprit Bumrah to bowl from the other end with the second new ball.

13.33 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Kieran Powell, BEATEN! A loose shot there! Good use of the angle by Kumar. He lands it slightly shorter and around off, it goes away with the angle. Powell throws his bat at it away from his body but luckily for him, he gets beaten. Such shots so early in the innings, just not needed.

13.32 IST: FOUR! Opens the account with a boundary! Slightly straighter, no swing on this one. Powell flicks it through mid-wicket. The outfield here is lightning fast and the ball races away for a boundary. A good way to score the first runs of the innings. WI 4/0 in 0.3 overs

13.30 IST: We are all set for the action to begin.

13.26 IST: The players are taking the field now. We are a couple of minutes from the scheduled start.

13.11 ISTTeams:

Windies (Playing XI): Kieran Powell, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shai Hope(w), Marlon Samuels, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder(c), Fabian Allen, Ashley Nurse, Kemar Roach, Obed McCoy

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(w), Rishabh Pant, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, K Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal

13.10 IST: Pitch Report: This pitch is going to be flat. There is little bit of grass so ball might move a bit initially but once ball becomes old. It should be an excellent batting track. We are in for plenty of runs again on this pitch.

13.09 ISTVirat Kohli: We will bowl first. It looks like a good wicket. Ball comes on much better in evening. We will try to restrict Windies to a decent total and chase it down. Bhuvi and Bumrah are back in our team. We have made three changes in our team.

Jason Holder: We would have liked to bowl first too. But it is a good track and batsmen would like to bat on this track. India are an excellent side and we have to perform well in all three departments to compete against them. We have made one change in our team. Bishoo misses out and Allen makes his debut. He is an excited player. He is very quick and handy with the bat too.

13.05 IST: India have won the toss and chose to bowl first

13.00 IST: A competitive batting display in the first ODI. Then a more than a competitive batting effort in the second, almost taking the game away from India. Will the third ODI finally be a successful one for the Windies? All in all, Windies have a good opportunity to level the series while India will look to gain an unassailable lead in the series.

12.34 IST: The toss is still 26 mins away. Till then feast on our coverage of MS Dhoni's drop and Twitter reactions.

12.15 IST: Hello and welcome to our live blog of India vs West Indies, 3rd ODI, from Pune. The match will start at 13.30 IST. Stay with us while we bring you live updates leading up to the toss.

Brief Preview: Handed a reality check after West Indies salvaged a morale-boosting tie in the second game, India will be hoping to put up an improved bowling show with their frontline pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah back in action for the third ODI here on October 27. A well-oiled India hammered the Windies in the lung opener in Guwahati by eight wickets, but the gritty visitors indeed, made a statement of sorts in Visakhapatnam, by denying the hosts a victory and a chance to go 2-0 ahead in the five-match rubber. However, the absence of Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah saw Indian bowling unit being clobbered for 320 plus runs in both games. With more variations in their repertoire in white ball cricket compared to the profligate Umesh Yadav and an inconsistent Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah are expected to make a significant difference, especially in the first Powerplay and the death overs. (READ FULL PREVIEW HERE)
