In Jammu and Kashmir’s Haril area of Kupwara district, terrorists have attacked Army patrolling party, on Friday, reported ANI.

On Thursday also, at least two Army jawans were injured in an attack on a patrolling party in Keran sector of Kupwara. Security forces had launched a combing operation in the area to flush out the terrorists.

"Terrorists opened fire on a link patrol ahead of the fence at the Line of Control in Keran sector," a Defence Spokesman said in Srinagar.

The ambush between the terrorists and Indian Army took place on a day when Home Minister Rajnath had visited the state to review suspension of military operations against the terrorists.

The Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Macchil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, killing three militants.

Troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in Macchil sector in Kupwara district and challenged the infiltrators, an Army official said. Three militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight, he said, adding search operations were on in the area.
