Me Too movement in India created a storm after Tanushree Dutta opened up about her ordeal on the sets of Horn OK Please. The actress recounted her horrific experience, which she allegedly faced at the hands of Nana Patekar in 2008. Post her revelations, women started speaking out and several celebrities came under the scanner. The movement got immense support from inside and outside the industry. Recently, when actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha was asked about the same at a book launch event, he spoke something which disappointed many.
His remarks made him face wrath from a section of netizens. The veteran actor in his statement said that he was relieved that his name didn't surface in the movement. Twitterati felt that his statement was aimed at belittling and ridiculing the movement. ''In the era of #MeToo, there is no hesitation in saying that behind every successful man’s fall also, there is a woman.'' he said. Mr. Sinha further added, ''I consider myself very lucky that in today's time even after several instances, my name did not pop up in Me Too movement. That's why I always obey my wife or make her my shield when I step out of the house.''
This didn't go down well with popular TV actor Nakuul Mehta. The Ishqbaaz fame actor is known for his outspoken nature. Nakuul's fiery tweets are enough to give us a glimpse of his spontaneity. Nakuul took to Twitter to slam the veteran actor. He wrote,'' This did not even need a KWK couch! Absolute bonkers''. With this, he also took a jibe at Koffee With Karan, which is known for controversial statements by celebs.
