Candidates who appeared in the NEET exam are now eagerly waiting for their results, which are to be released on June 14, as per the schedule. After this, the counselling process will be conducted. The candidate students will have to produce all required documents (certificates, mark sheets) during the counselling procedure. What is NEET Gap Certificate?

A Gap certificate is an essential document for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) students who have taken a break from their regular education. This break could be due to various reasons including medical issues, personal circumstances, preparation for neet, or other interests. The purpose of this certificate is to provide an explanation for the education gap and reassure the authorities about the candidate's study break. 

To get this certificate, a candidate is required to submit an application form that includes the candidate's academic background, reasons for the gap, and any supporting documentation that may be required such as affidavits or medical certificates, that supports the reason for the gap.

How to make NEET gap certificate?

The procedure to make a NEET gap certificate is simple. The students are required to complete an affidavit form and present it to the respective authorities. Following the affidavit approval, the candidates will receive gap certificate.

What are the documents required for Gap certificate?

A candidate applying for the Gap certificate is required to provide the following documents:

1. ID Proof: The candidate will have to provide a copy of a legitimate identity document that verifies the candidate's identity such as a driver's license, voter ID, aadhar card, or PAN card.

2. School/college leaving certificate: The candidate will have to provide a copy of the official document provided by the last educational institution attended

3. Certificate proof: The candidates will have to provide a copy of a document attesting to the candidate's citizenship, including passport, birth certificate, or nationality certificate, etc.

4. Final Qualifying Exam Marksheet: Candidates will have to submit a copy of the most recent qualifying exam mark sheet or certificate, such as the diploma from their previous degree program or final test.

5. Proof of Residential Address: Candidates will have to submit a copy of a utility bill, rental agreement, or other official document attesting to the candidate’s residential address.

Procedure involved in making NEET gap certificate

  • Obtain the draft of the gap affidavit
  • Purchase a non-judicial stamp from the court or other relevant organisations
  • Print the draft text on the stamp paper that is not judicial
  • Enclose all supporting documentation for gap year
  • Take the printed affidavit with you to the appropriate authority: Notary Public
  • In front of the authority, sign the affidavit
  • The authorities will verify the information provided and the associated documents
  • A notary public will sign and seal the paper following verification
  • This will henceforth be regarded as a gap certificate
