Mumbai, Jun 28: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan revealed some personal moments he shared with legendary singer Rahul Dev Burman, lovingly known as Pancham, a day after his birth anniversary.

Bachchan said the late musician always felt the "Industry had discarded his talent and was not giving him the opportunity he wanted." "I was fortunate to have him give me some of my favorite songs in memorable films. He felt the industry had discarded his talent and was not giving him the opportunity he wanted. His last known work was in the film '1942 A love Story', the film made by Vinod Chopra starring Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala," Bachchan wrote on his blog.

The 70-year-old star also said the legendary singer was actor-director Mehmood's discovery and was named Pancham by the industry because he used to sing at a high pitch. "It was Mehmood bhai, who, recognising his talent gave him the first break to become an  independent music director.

And after that he just never rested, producing some of the most loved and lasting music in the history of the Indian Film Industry," Bachchan added. The actor feels fortunate to have some of his songs sung by Pancham.

"Apart from his inherent talent he was great company, always affable, filled with humour, and having a ready story on a comic situation that he may have encountered."
