New Delhi: Lenovo has launched a new budget smartphone, called the A536, in India at Rs 8,999.
The device comes with a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854p) twisted nematic display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582m quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Internal storage includes 8GB along with a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB.
It runs Android 4.4 kitKat and comes preloaded with Lenovo's proprietary 'DOit' apps that lets users share, secure and sync information.
It has a 5MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP fixed focus front-facing camera.
The dual-sim smartphone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS connectivity options in addition to FM radio. It comes with a 2000mAh battery promising a standby time of 12.5 days and talk time of 12 hours on 3G networks.
Lenovo A536 will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Asus ZenFone 4 and 5, and Motorola Moto E.
